Los Angeles: The US has pinpointed a suspected leaker accused of alerting a Venezuelan criminal gang, Tren de Aragua, about an impending Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raid in Los Angeles, as revealed by Trump's border czar, Tom Homan.

According to Anadolu Agency, Homan disclosed on Fox News that they have identified the suspect, who is currently under investigation. He mentioned that he has communicated with Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove and emphasized that a criminal investigation has been initiated. Homan warned that the alleged leaker, possibly an FBI employee, faces the risk of imprisonment, job loss, and forfeiture of pension rights.

The leak has sparked criticism from Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, who condemned the FBI as 'corrupt' in a post on X. She pledged to prosecute 'crooked deep state agents to the fullest extent of the law.'

Tren de Aragua, designated as a Foreign Terrorist Organization by the US, is notorious for its violent operations across borders. The ICE raid, described by the LA Times as 'large scale,' was intended to focus on undocumented immigrants residing in Los Angeles.

In a related development, Trump has recently ordered the establishment of a detention camp at Guantanamo Bay, designed to accommodate up to 30,000 of what he terms the "worst criminal illegal aliens threatening the American people." The White House has started transporting undocumented immigrants, labeled as "high threat" and "criminals," to the Cuban detention facility as part of Trump's extensive deportation strategy.
