Washington: The United States announced visa restrictions against 13 individuals linked to Indian online pharmacy KS International Traders for allegedly distributing counterfeit prescription drugs containing fentanyl.

According to Anadolu Agency, the US State Department identified these individuals as close associates of KS International Traders and its owner, who operate out of India. The sanctioned online pharmacy has reportedly sold hundreds of thousands of counterfeit prescription pills laced with illicit fentanyl to unsuspecting victims across the United States.

The statement from the department highlighted that KS International Traders has generated significant revenue through fentanyl trafficking. It also pointed out that US President Donald Trump had previously designated fentanyl a 'Weapon of Mass Destruction'.

The US State Department emphasized that this action underlines the United States' and India's ongoing commitment to dismantling illicit drug operations. It concluded by stating that those complicit in such activities, which lead to the poisoning of Americans, will be denied entry to the United States.
