Borujerd: A US-Israeli strike targeted residential areas in the Iranian city of Borujerd in western Lorestan province, killing at least five people and injuring 35 others, according to the Iranian semi-official Tasnim news agency Saturday. The attack has caused significant damage and trapped residents under the rubble, prompting urgent rescue efforts.

According to Anadolu Agency, the deputy security governor of Lorestan reported that several residential units were hit in the attack. The partial destruction of housing areas has left some residents trapped, with rescue teams working tirelessly to save those caught under the debris. The official confirmed that five citizens have been identified and confirmed dead, while 35 others are receiving medical attention in hospitals.

Efforts are ongoing to transfer the wounded to medical facilities as quickly as possible, with authorities warning that the casualty toll could rise as rescue teams continue to clear debris and access blocked sections of damaged buildings.

The US and Israel have maintained airstrikes on Iran since February 28, leading to the deaths of over 1,340 people, including the then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. In response, Iran has launched drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, as well as other countries like Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf nations hosting US military assets. These retaliatory actions have resulted in casualties, infrastructure damage, and disruptions to global markets and aviation.
