Tehran: US-Israeli airstrikes targeted Tehran's Mehrabad International Airport and a petrochemical production facility in the northwestern city of Tabriz early Monday, according to Iranian media. Iranian state television reported that multiple sites across the capital suffered hits.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Iranian state broadcaster indicated that the strikes also focused on a branch of Iran's National Bank and a cardboard factory situated in the southern part of the city. Additionally, Mehr News Agency disclosed that a residential area in northern Tehran was struck, resulting in several injuries.

Fars News Agency reported that a US-Israeli strike specifically aimed at a petrochemical production unit in Tabriz. Majid Farshi, the director general of crisis management in East Azerbaijan province, stated that search and rescue operations were actively underway at the site. He assured that the situation was under control, emphasizing that no hazardous or toxic materials had leaked following the attack.

The US and Israel have been conducting airstrikes on Iran since February 28, which have resulted in more than 1,340 fatalities, including the death of then-Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. In response, Iran has launched drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, as well as other countries, including Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf nations hosting US military assets, causing casualties, infrastructure damage, and disruptions to global markets and aviation.
