Vatican City: US President Donald Trump on Sunday praised the German Christian Democrats for their election victory, referring to it as a "great day for Germany and the US."

According to Anadolu Agency, Trump expressed his sentiments on the social media platform X, highlighting the similarities between the political climates of Germany and the United States. He remarked that the people of Germany, like those in the US, had grown weary of policies lacking practical sense, particularly in areas such as energy and immigration.

Trump noted the Conservative Party's triumph in what he described as a "very big and highly anticipated election." He extended his congratulations to Germany, expressing optimism for future successes: "Many more victories to follow."
