Washington: Producer prices in the US rose by 2.6% in May compared to the previous year, aligning with market expectations, the US Bureau of Labor Statistics announced on Thursday.
According to Anadolu Agency, April saw a 2.4% increase in producer prices based on official figures. On a monthly scale, producer prices climbed by 0.1%, as stated by the bureau.
The rise in the index for final demand was mainly due to an increase in prices for final demand services, which advanced by 0.1%. Meanwhile, the index for final demand goods saw a rise of 0.2%.
Prices for final demand, excluding foods, energy, and trade services, slightly increased by 0.1% in May.
