Washington: The US has revoked visas and imposed visa restrictions on individuals in Mexico identified as "knowingly facilitating illegal immigration to the United States," the State Department announced on Wednesday. This decisive action targets executives and senior officials of a Mexico-based transportation company accused of providing travel services primarily designed for individuals intending to illegally immigrate to the US.

According to Anadolu Agency, investigators discovered that the implicated individuals organized travel arrangements for people, including children, from Caribbean locations and other regions to Central American staging points. Many of these individuals were later found attempting to enter the United States illegally.

The State Department emphasized that it is revoking visas and imposing visa restrictions to prevent these individuals from entering the country. It further warned that the United States will not tolerate any attempts to undermine its national security or immigration laws.

The department reiterated its commitment to ensuring that those who "profit from illegal immigration" face consequences. It pledged to aggressively target smuggling networks to protect US borders.
