Brussels: Two US service members were killed, and one remains missing after Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks in Jordan on Friday, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) said on Saturday.
According to Anadolu Agency, a CENTCOM statement detailed that the incident occurred on July 17, as US Central Command and partner forces defended against the Iranian attacks. The statement also mentioned that four US service members who were medically evacuated to hospitals in Jordan have since been discharged, and other personnel treated for minor injuries have returned to duty.
CENTCOM has decided to withhold further details, including the identities of the deceased, out of respect for their families. The command emphasized that additional information will not be disclosed until 24 hours after the next of kin have been notified.
