Ankara: US stocks ended with gains Monday except for the Dow. The Dow Jones Industrial Average saw a decline of 128.65 points, or 0.29%, closing the day at 44,782, marking a notable deviation from the performance of the other major indices. According to Anadolu Agency, while the Dow experienced a downturn, the S and P 500 recorded an increase of 14.77 points, or 0.24%, bringing it to 6,047.15. In a more robust performance, the Nasdaq surged by 185.78 points, or 0.97%, to settle at 19,403.95. The VIX volatility index, often referred to as the "fear index," showed a decrease of 1.26%, ending at 13.34, indicating a reduction in market volatility. In the commodities market, precious metals experienced declines. Gold prices dropped by 0.71% to approximately $2,661.90 per ounce, while silver decreased by 0.3% to $30.50 as of 2210GMT. Oil prices also saw a reduction, with global benchmark Brent crude falling by 0.69% to trade at $71.90 a barrel.
