WASHINGTON: The US trade deficit fell 11.9% to $73.8 billion in October, down from $83.8 billion in September, according to the US Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) on Thursday. According to Anadolu Agency, exports dropped 1.6% to $265.7 billion during the previous month, while imports also declined 4% to $339.6 billion. The goods deficit experienced a significant decrease, falling by $10.4 billion to $98.7 billion compared to September. In contrast, the services surplus saw a reduction of $400 million, bringing it down to $24.8 billion. This change in the trade deficit reflects shifts in both the export and import markets during the month of October, as reported by the BEA.
