US Vice President JD Vance to Visit Azerbaijan and Armenia in February

Washington: US President Donald Trump announced Friday that Vice President JD Vance will visit Azerbaijan and Armenia in February. “In February, Vice President Vance will travel to both countries to build on our peace efforts, and advance the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP),” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.

According to Anadolu Agency, Trump expressed gratitude to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan for their commitment to a peace agreement signed in August. The visit aims to enhance strategic partnerships and includes plans for peaceful nuclear cooperation with Armenia, deals for American semiconductor manufacturers, and the sale of defense equipment to Azerbaijan.

The TRIPP initiative, agreed upon at a White House summit on August 8 with Pashinyan, Aliyev, and Trump, seeks to reopen regional transport links by connecting mainland Azerbaijan to Nakhchivan through Armenia.
