Nairobi: Turkish national Ibrahim Eser, celebrated for rescuing 38 individuals trapped under rubble following the twin earthquakes in Venezuela, received the Hero of Venezuela Medal from Acting President Delcy Rodriguez. This accolade was in recognition of his significant contributions during the disaster.

According to Anadolu Agency, Eser's efforts extended beyond rescue operations as he also provided crucial footage and information to the agency, highlighting the calamity on a global scale. The award ceremony took place at Jorge Luis Garcia Carneiro Stadium, where Rodriguez also honored members of Venezuela's security and emergency response teams who played vital roles in the post-quake rescue and coordination missions.

During the ceremony, Rodriguez commended the rescue teams for their unwavering dedication and ability to embody Venezuela's spirit of resilience. Eser recounted his interactions with Rodriguez, explaining how her attention was drawn to his humanitarian work after a recommendation by Trkiye's Ambassador to Caracas. Following this, Rodriguez expressed her gratitude and intention to honor Eser with an award.
