Weight of goods transported by road from and to Cyprus increased by 28% in the period January-March 2023, compared to the same period of 2022, according to data published by the Statistical Service of Cyprus. During the first quarter of the year, the total weight of goods transported by road in Cyprus also increased by 8.3%, reaching 10.5 million tonnes, compared to 9.6 million in the corresponding period of 2022 According to the data, an increase of 60.1% was also noted in the tonnekilometres registered in the road freight transport from and to Cyprus, with an additional increase of 12.7% recorded in the road freight transport in Cyprus.
