Washington: The White House has withdrawn the nomination of E.J. Antoni to lead the Bureau of Labor Statistics, a White House official confirmed to CBS News.
According to Anadolu Agency, the official did not provide a reason for the decision but described Antoni as a 'brilliant economist.' President Donald Trump plans to name a new nominee soon.
In August, Trump announced his intent to nominate Antoni as the next commissioner of the Bureau of Labor Statistics. At the time, Trump praised Antoni on the social media platform Truth Social, stating, "Our Economy is booming, and E.J. will ensure that the Numbers released are HONEST and ACCURATE. I know E.J. Antoni will do an incredible job in this new role. Congratulations E.J.!"
