Gaza city: The World Health Organization's chief has raised alarm over Israel's plans to occupy Gaza City, describing the situation as "deeply worrying." The WHO chief emphasized that the humanitarian and health conditions in the enclave are already dire and could worsen with increased military operations.

According to Anadolu Agency, General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus expressed his concerns on X, stating that the expansion of military operations in Gaza could exacerbate the risk to children, particularly in terms of malnutrition and healthcare access. He urged for immediate and unobstructed access to food and health aid and called for the release of hostages and a permanent ceasefire.

In other developments, the UN Security Council has reaffirmed its commitment to Syria's territorial integrity amid ongoing conflicts. The council issued a statement condemning any interference in Syria's political, security, and economic transitions, which could destabilize efforts towards peace.

Meanwhile, an Israeli airstrike in Gaza City resulted in the deaths of two Al Jazeera correspondents, Anas al-Sharif and Mohamed Qraiqea. The strike targeted a journalists' tent near the Al-Shifa Hospital, raising serious concerns about the safety of media personnel in conflict zones.
