Berlin: Wholesale prices in Germany increased by 1.1% in October, a slight decline from the 1.2% rise recorded in September, as per official figures released by Destatis on Wednesday.

According to Anadolu Agency, the increase in wholesale prices was primarily driven by higher costs of food, beverages, and tobacco, which saw an average price rise of 3.5% compared to October 2024. Destatis also reported significant year-on-year increases in the wholesale prices of non-ferrous ores, non-ferrous metals, and non-ferrous semi-finished metal products, which surged by 26.3%.

In contrast, the wholesale prices for mineral oil products experienced a decline, falling by 2.1%. On a monthly basis, wholesale prices overall rose by 0.3%, indicating a varied impact across different sectors.
