Ankara: Trkiye's Communications Director Fahrettin Altun stated that the world has reached a point where words can no longer describe the scale of Israel's attacks on Gaza, emphasizing that the ongoing oppression must end immediately. Altun made these remarks during a joint live broadcast titled 'Journalists on Watch: Don't Remain Silent for Palestine,' organized by the Turkish Press Federation to protest Israel's policies in Palestine.
According to Anadolu Agency, Altun highlighted Trkiye's active involvement in diplomatic efforts, noting on social media platform X: 'Trkiye is making every effort to end this genocide and supports all efforts for a ceasefire.' He accused Israel of being a 'machine of evil,' committing crimes against humanity and attempting to erase Palestinians from global history through its lobbies.
Altun urged regional countries and the international community to act swiftly to secure a ceasefire and assist in rebuilding Gaza. He called for the establishment and recognition of a strong Palestinian state, expressing optimism that the Palestinian people would eventually achieve freedom. Drawing parallels with Syria, Altun remarked: "Just as cities like Aleppo and Damascus emerged from years of struggle, we believe Jerusalem, Gaza, and the West Bank will also be liberated."
He further expressed that the Palestinian people, much like the Syrians before them, are engaged in a just struggle and, with God's will, will see the results of their resistance.
