Aden:Yemen's Information Ministry has accused the Houthi group of targeting a camp for displaced people west of Aden with three ballistic missiles.
According to Anadolu Agency – English, the ministry identified the site as a displacement camp in Ras Imran, located west of the country's interim capital. However, no details were provided on casualties or damage resulting from the attack.
Earlier reports on Sunday indicated that a ballistic missile, attributed to the Houthis by local sources, had exploded near a government military camp in western Aden. It landed in an uninhabited sandy area behind an iron factory in Bir Ahmed in the Al-Buraiqa district, reportedly causing no casualties or damage.
The incident follows a series of accusations from Yemen's Interior Ministry, which claimed the Houthis fired three ballistic missiles at two coast guard facilities in Aden. The Houthis acknowledged attacking two military sites in the city. The Information Ministry also alleged that the Houthis targeted Aden International Airport and the port in Al-Tawahi on Saturday.
Transport Minister Mohsen Ali Haidara noted that the airport had come under Houthi attack for the fourth consecutive time. Additionally, the Interior Ministry reported that these attacks were part of repeated missile and drone strikes against civilian and vital infrastructure in Aden, including its airport.
Yemen has been embroiled in conflict since the Houthis seized the capital Sanaa and other provinces in 2014, leading to a Saudi-led coalition's intervention in 2015 to support the internationally recognized government. The Houthis currently control much of northern and western Yemen, including Sanaa, while the recognized government and allied forces control Aden and significant parts of southern and eastern Yemen. However, renewed fighting has caused shifts in control, especially along the Red Sea coast, leaving some areas contested.
