Yemeni Army Claims Neutralization of 620 Houthi Fighters in Major Offensive

Taiz:Yemen Yemen's government forces announced on Friday that they have neutralized approximately 620 Houthi fighters and destroyed or damaged about 190 military vehicles and weapons systems in operations conducted over the past 24 hours.

According to Anadolu Agency – English, military spokesman Majed Abdullah al-Nuzayli shared in a statement on US social media company X that the government forces executed 1,392 targeting operations under the ongoing 'Operation Dawn of Yemen.' These operations included ground raids, assaults, airstrikes, and concentrated fire across multiple battlefronts.

The attacks were aimed at Houthi troop concentrations, reinforcements, field commanders, fortifications, trenches, armored vehicles, troop carriers, and heavy and medium weapons positions. Al-Nuzayli claimed these operations disrupted the Houthi command structure, supply lines, and their ability to move reinforcements between fronts.

In Taiz, a southwestern province, government forces conducted raids and counterattacks against Houthi positions and advanced along the Al-Aqroud front. Al-Nuzayli stated that government troops prevented Houthi members from regrouping or reclaiming lost positions while continuing operations on other fronts.

Preliminary field assessments indicated that nearly 620 Houthi members, including field commanders, were neutralized. Additionally, approximately 190 vehicles, armored personnel carriers, troop transports, and heavy and medium weapons systems were reported destroyed or damaged. These figures have not been independently verified.

Al-Nuzayli emphasized that the continued deployment of Houthi reinforcements would not alter the course of the conflict, asserting that government forces were closely monitoring Houthi movements and military capabilities. He also reiterated the military's commitment to adhering to international humanitarian law and taking necessary precautions to protect civilians and civilian infrastructure.
