Yemeni Army Launches Airstrikes on Houthi Positions, Gains Ground in Taiz

Taiz:Yemeni army forces have announced a series of airstrikes against Houthi positions and military vehicles in the Taiz and Marib provinces, resulting in casualties and the destruction of several vehicles.

According to Anadolu Agency, state-run Saba TV reported that the army conducted concentrated strikes south and southwest of Marib, destroying and disabling multiple combat vehicles and inflicting personnel losses on the Houthis.

In the Taiz province, government forces have regained control of strategic locations, including Mahyoub Thabet and Watheeb hills in al-Dhunayb village, as well as al-Furqan school. These advances reportedly caused significant losses to Houthi forces.

September Net, affiliated with Yemen's Defense Ministry, detailed that the airstrikes targeted Houthi deployments and equipment in various areas around Taiz city, including al-Siyahi, al-Hawban, and Sixty Street. Additional strikes were reported on Sofitel hill, targeting a tank and artillery pieces, as well as other positions on al-Jaasha hill and in the al-Maqrami area.

Taiz Governor Nabil Shamsan has called for immediate national and international intervention to alleviate the humanitarian impact of the military escalation and to lift the long-standing Houthi siege on the province.

Yemen's Information Ministry has accused the Houthis of missile attacks on the al-Saeed Mosque in central Taiz city during worship, condemning it as a grave violation of mosque sanctity and a threat to civilian lives. The Houthis have not yet responded to these allegations.
