Yemeni Forces Gain Control of Strategic Bab el-Mandeb Strait

Dhubab:Yemeni government forces have announced the successful capture of the Bab el-Mandeb Strait from Houthi forces as part of their ongoing military campaign, 'Dawn of Yemen.'

According to Anadolu Agency, Lt. Col. Majid Abdullah al-Nuzayli, a military spokesperson, reported that the Southern Giants Brigades and Nation's Shield forces aligned with the government had taken control of this critical area.

Statements from al-Nuzayli on the US social media platform X detailed that government forces had also seized Dhubab airport and disrupted the road linking Dhubab and Mokha. He further noted that hundreds of Houthi fighters were encircled in the Dhubab region and urged them to surrender. Additionally, some Houthi fighters reportedly fled by sea.

Bab el-Mandeb is a crucial waterway connecting the Red Sea with the Gulf of Aden and the Arabian Sea, serving as a vital route for international shipping.
