Aden:The Yemeni government has approved a draft law that designates the Houthi group as a 'terrorist organization' and criminalizes its activities and financing. This decision was made during a Cabinet meeting in the temporary capital, Aden, chaired by Prime Minister Shaya al-Zindani.
According to Anadolu Agency, the draft law was approved after a presentation by the legal affairs minister, and officials have been instructed to complete the necessary constitutional and legal procedures for its ratification. This development follows a Houthi attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, which resulted in 12 deaths and 309 injuries.
The attack has been widely condemned, and the Houthis have threatened to continue targeting Saudi Arabia. The Yemeni Cabinet declared that the nation is at a 'decisive stage' in its efforts to restore sovereignty over its entire territory and to end the Houthi coup, which it claims is financed and directed by Iran.
Prime Minister al-Zindani has directed all executive authorities to shift from reactive measures to proactive actions, enhancing readiness and meeting the needs of the armed forces, military formations, security forces, and Popular Resistance. As of 1445GMT, the Houthis had not commented on the proposed designation.
