Yemen’s Houthi Rebels Threaten Further Attacks on Saudi Targets

Riyadh:Yemen's Houthi rebels have announced their intention to continue targeting Saudi airports and oil facilities in the coming days. This follows a series of attacks they claim to have carried out recently.

According to Anadolu Agency, Yahya Saree, the military spokesman for the Houthis, stated that the group conducted a military operation against Aramco facilities in Dhahran, an Aramco refinery in Riyadh, and King Khalid International Airport. He warned of severe consequences for Saudi Arabia and urged international shipping companies and workers to avoid the targeted sites, labeling them as legitimate targets.

The Saudi-led coalition in Yemen reported intercepting and destroying a ballistic missile launched by the Houthis toward Riyadh. The incident led to warning alerts in Riyadh and Al-Kharj, with the Saudi Civil Defense later confirming that the threat had passed. Witnesses in Riyadh reported hearing four explosions following the alerts.

Saudi authorities disclosed that four individuals were injured and 15 houses suffered minor damage from debris caused by the interception of two cruise missiles. Saudi Arabia has spearheaded a military coalition since 2015 to support Yemen's internationally recognized government against the Houthis, who have controlled Sanaa and several other provinces since 2014. The ongoing escalation began in July following the collapse of a truce established in 2022.
