Kyiv: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Saturday expressed his gratitude for Poland's defense support and strategic partnership during a meeting with Polish President Andrzej Duda as Ukraine observed its Constitution Day.

According to Anadolu Agency, Zelenskyy emphasized the steadfast support Poland has provided since the onset of the war. He described Duda as a reliable ally and true friend, highlighting the enduring relationship between the two nations. The discussions between the leaders covered regional security, coordination within NATO, and upcoming decisions at the European Union level.

Zelenskyy noted that both countries are actively working on implementing key defense agreements and expressed optimism that tangible progress would be achieved in the next six months. He thanked Duda personally and the Polish people for their significant defense assistance and for making joint decisions in pursuit of freedom.

Meanwhile, Duda's presidency is set to conclude as he is unable to seek a third term under Polish law. Karol Nawrocki will succeed him on August 6, following his victory in Poland's presidential election earlier this month.
