Kyiv: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced plans to meet with US President Donald Trump in late January to discuss a peace plan. This development marks a significant step in diplomatic efforts to address the ongoing conflict.

According to Anadolu Agency, Zelenskyy stated that the meeting aims to finalize security documents and address security guarantees and recovery. The announcement came after Zelenskyy held talks with national security advisers from partner nations. Representatives from various general staffs are scheduled to travel to Europe next week to meet with Trump's team in Paris.

Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of these discussions, expressing hope that a leaders' meeting in the United States would take place by the end of January. The announcement follows a December meeting in Florida, where Trump highlighted progress on issues related to the eastern Donbas region and the formation of a special working group for a peaceful resolution.

Zelenskyy mentioned that the peace plan is nearing completion and that US security guarantees are settled. Meanwhile, Trump expressed dissatisfaction with Russian President Vladimir Putin but remains hopeful for progress in resolving the conflict.
