Kyiv: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Kyiv has intensified its discussions with Washington regarding the American proposal aimed at ending the ongoing war. This development follows an extensive call lasting nearly an hour with US Vice President JD Vance and US Secretary of the Army Dan Driscoll.
According to Anadolu Agency, Zelenskyy shared via Telegram that both sides managed to delve into numerous details concerning the American proposals for concluding the conflict. He emphasized that Ukraine is committed to ensuring that the proposed path forward is dignified and effective in achieving a lasting peace.
Zelenskyy expressed his gratitude for Washington's attention and its willingness to collaborate with Ukraine and its partners. He noted that Ukraine, the US, and European states have agreed to continue coordination at the level of national security advisors to ensure the feasibility of the peace path.
The Ukrainian President reiterated Ukraine's respect for US President Donald Trump's desire to end the bloodshed and stated that any realistic proposal is viewed positively. He emphasized that both parties agreed to maintain constant communication and that their teams are prepared to work tirelessly.
Zelenskyy's comments come as discussions continue over the specifics of the US-drafted proposal, with Kyiv insisting that any settlement must ensure a sustainable and just peace.
