Nairobi: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine has executed strikes on three oil depots and a fuel facility in Russia's Stavropol region, alongside targeting three vessels identified as part of Russia's 'shadow fleet' in the Black Sea. The statement was made public through a US social media platform, X, where Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine's actions were a justified response to Russian strikes.

According to Anadolu Agency, the regional Governor, Vladimir Vladimirov, reported on Telegram that a drone attack had led to a fire in an industrial area in northern Stavropol. The incident resulted in explosions of flammable materials, causing audible blasts in the city. However, Vladimirov assured that there was no immediate threat to nearby residential zones, and preliminary reports indicated no casualties or injuries.

In previous statements, Ukraine claimed significant impacts on Russian energy infrastructure, with strikes reportedly disabling 42.74% of Russia's oil-refining capacity as of early July. Ukraine's General Staff detailed that its forces had targeted eight Russian oil refineries over the past month, destroying or critically damaging over 60 storage tanks. Of these tanks, 58% contained oil products and 42% crude oil, leading to estimated industry losses of $13.5 billion since August 2025.

The ongoing Ukrainian drone attacks have compelled several Russian oil refineries to halt operations for maintenance, inciting Moscow to implement occasional restrictions to stabilize its domestic fuel market.
