Zelenskyy Discusses Air Defense and Winter Support with German Foreign Minister

Kyiv: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on Saturday that he engaged in discussions with German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul about strengthening Ukraine's air defense systems and securing support for Kyiv ahead of the approaching winter season.

According to Anadolu Agency, Zelenskyy conveyed the importance of these discussions through a statement on the US social media platform, X, highlighting that bolstering air defense is a top priority. He expressed appreciation for Germany's leadership and its commitment to providing assistance. The discussions also covered efforts to finalize an agreement under the Drone Deal format, with Zelenskyy expressing hope for a signing in the near future. The Ukrainian President thanked Wadephul for his visit and his participation in the 9th International Veterans Forum in Kyiv.

Wadephul's visit to Kyiv included a meeting with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha. Germany's Federal Foreign Office issued a press release stating that Wadephul traveled to Ukraine to discuss preparations for the upcoming winter and to enhance security and defense cooperation between the two nations.
