Kyiv: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed two bills into law, extending martial law and mobilization in Ukraine for an additional three months. The move comes as part of ongoing efforts to address the challenges posed by the conflict with Russia.

According to Anadolu Agency, the status of the bills was updated on the Verkhovna Rada's online portal, confirming they were signed by Zelenskyy. This extension will keep both martial law and mobilization in effect until May 9. The president had initially submitted the draft bills to parliament on January 14, where they were promptly adopted the following day.

Zelenskyy first declared martial law and general mobilization on February 24, 2022, in response to Russia's "special military operation" in Ukraine. Since then, these measures have been extended multiple times to adapt to the evolving situation.
