Paris: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated on Monday that the peace plan being formulated between Kyiv and Washington appears to be improving, although the territorial issues remain the most challenging aspect of the discussions.

According to Anadolu Agency, Zelenskyy highlighted during a joint press conference with French President Emmanuel Macron that the territorial issue is particularly complex. He pointed out that the financial and restoration aspects are difficult to navigate without European partners' involvement, and emphasized the importance of specific security guarantees from both the US and Europe. He noted the necessity for caution, despite the plan showing signs of improvement.

Zelenskyy revealed that Ukrainian and American negotiators dedicated over six hours to the territorial discussions, focusing on individual points, which illustrates the difficulty of the ongoing talks. He mentioned that while discussions with the US are still ongoing, Washington has already shared its perspective with Ukrainian officials and plans to discuss the same issues with Moscow.

The Ukrainian president also mentioned that he expects feedback from his delegation soon, as they are traveling to Ireland to provide a detailed update on the negotiation progress. Additionally, Zelenskyy commented on the recent resignation of Andriy Yermak, whose office was searched by anti-corruption officials. He stated that he plans to hold consultations upon returning to Kyiv regarding the leadership of the presidential office, with a focus on management direction and diplomacy.
