Kyiv: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Sunday that he had instructed his defense and foreign ministers to intensify contacts with international partners, particularly the US, to secure additional air defense systems, including Patriot batteries, ahead of the upcoming Ramstein-format meeting.

According to Anadolu Agency, Zelenskyy stated on Telegram that two priorities were being coordinated: air defense, specifically Patriots, and deployment coordination, aiming for the closest possible decisions and working through all details. He emphasized the necessity of bilateral efforts, especially with the United States, which he noted has the capacity to help stop any terror.

Zelenskyy underscored the importance of making the right decisions to protect lives from Russian ballistic strikes and highlighted that strengthening Ukraine's air shield also bolsters diplomacy. He referred to a recent Russian missile attack, noting that some rockets were launched from the Black Sea and mentioned that Ukraine's partners were informed about the vessels and locations involved.

Zelenskyy criticized Russia for distorting diplomacy and refusing an unconditional ceasefire, claiming that Russia aims to maintain its capacity to strike Ukrainian cities and ports from the sea. He argued that a maritime ceasefire would ensure safe navigation, secure food supply routes, and contribute to broader security and peace.
