Southern lebanon: The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) reported on Monday that a blast targeted a peacekeeping vehicle, resulting in the death of two peacekeepers and injuring two others, one of whom is critically wounded. The explosion occurred near the town of Bani Hayyan in the Marjeyoun district.

According to Anadolu Agency, UNIFIL's statement described the incident as an "explosion of unknown origin" that completely destroyed the vehicle carrying the peacekeepers. This incident follows a similar attack within the preceding 24 hours, prompting the mission to launch an investigation into the circumstances surrounding these attacks.

The UNIFIL statement emphasized the tragic loss, stating, "We reiterate that no one should lose their life while serving in the cause of peace." Prior to this, on Sunday, another peacekeeper was killed and one injured when a projectile hit a UNIFIL position near the town of Adshit al-Qusayr in southern Lebanon.

The Lebanese state news agency, NNA, reported that Israeli artillery shelling had targeted the headquarters of the Indonesian UNIFIL unit in the same town, although further details were not provided.
