Iran Confirms Death of IRGC Naval Commander in US-Israeli Strike

Iran: Iran on Monday confirmed that its Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy Commander Alireza Tangsiri was killed in a US-Israeli strike, Fars news agency said, citing an official statement.

According to Anadolu Agency, on Thursday, Israel's defense minister stated that Tangsiri had been killed in an airstrike along with all senior Navy command officials in the southern city of Bandar Abbas. The local media reported that the Iranian commander was responsible for closing the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

The same day, US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed the death of Tangsiri.
