Aleppo: At least 23 civilians were killed and 104 others injured in attacks by the YPG/SDF terrorist organization on residential neighborhoods in the northern Syrian city of Aleppo since Tuesday, a local health official said Saturday.

According to Anadolu Agency, Mounir al-Mohammad, media director at Aleppo's Health Directorate, informed the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) that the casualties resulted from SDF shelling of civilian areas. The dead included a child and four women, with one of the fatalities being a dentistry student killed by sniper fire. Al-Mohammad noted that most of the injured were women and children, with many in critical condition and at risk of dying at any moment.

Since Tuesday, the SDF has targeted residential neighborhoods, civilian facilities, and Syrian Army positions in Aleppo. The attacks have led to the displacement of approximately 165,000 residents from the Ashrafieh and Sheikh Maqsoud districts.

Last March 10, the Syrian presidency announced an agreement for the SDF's integration into state institutions, reaffirming the country's territorial unity and rejecting any attempts at division. However, authorities reported that since the agreement, the SDF has not made efforts to meet its terms.

The government has been working to maintain security across the country since the removal of the Assad regime in December 2024, after 24 years in power.
