Kyiv: Ukraine and Russia on Saturday accused each other of striking energy-related facilities overnight, as both sides reported fresh military actions linked to fuel supply and infrastructure supporting war efforts.

According to Anadolu Agency, Ukraine's Defense Forces stated that their units conducted a nighttime strike on the Zhutovskaya oil depot in Russia's Volgograd region, asserting that the facility played a role in supplying fuel to Russian troops.

Ukraine's military claimed, "The target was hit. The extent of the damage is being assessed," emphasizing that the operation was intended to diminish Russia's offensive capabilities and military-economic potential. Additionally, Kyiv reported drone strikes in Russian-controlled areas of the Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk regions, targeting UAV storage facilities and command-and-control points and declaring successful hits in all instances.

Conversely, Russia's Defense Ministry announced that its forces had targeted Ukrainian energy infrastructure that supports the country's military-industrial complex, alongside fuel storage sites and troop deployment areas across 153 locations. The ministry detailed that these strikes were executed using aviation, missiles, artillery, and unmanned aerial vehicles. Furthermore, Moscow claimed advances on the battlefield by its forces and reported Ukrainian personnel and equipment losses in several regions.

Ukraine has not released any comments regarding the alleged damage to its energy facilities. The claims made by both Ukraine and Russia have not been independently verified.
