Moscow: At least 32 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) flying towards Russia's capital Moscow early morning were shot down by air defenses, local authorities said on Sunday. According to Anadolu Agency, Mayor Sergey Sobyanin stated on Telegram that the drones were intercepted over the Moscow region's Domodedovsky, Ramensky, and Kolomensky districts. He confirmed that there was no damage or casualties resulting from the falling debris and noted that emergency services are currently active at the scene. The Russian Federal Air Transport Agency, Rosaviatsia, initially imposed temporary flight restrictions at Moscow's Domodedovo and Zhukovsky airports starting at 8:03 a.m. local time (0503GMT). Later, it was announced that Sheremetyevo International Airport also faced temporary restrictions beginning at 9:45 a.m. local time (0645GMT). In a related development, the Russian Defense Ministry reported intercepting 23 Ukrainian drones during an overnight attack across the border regions of Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, an d Rostov. Ukrainian authorities have not yet officially acknowledged responsibility for the drone attacks on Moscow and the border regions.
