Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed into law the ratification of a comprehensive strategic partnership treaty between Russia and North Korea. This significant development was reported by the state news agency TASS on Saturday. According to Anadolu Agency, the treaty was initially signed in Pyongyang on June 19 and was later submitted by President Putin to the State Duma for ratification on October 15. The treaty outlines that military and other forms of assistance will be provided immediately, adhering to Article 51 of the UN Charter, which acknowledges the right to individual and collective self-defense. The preamble of the treaty highlights its aim to serve the core interests of both Russia and North Korea. It emphasizes the promotion of peace, regional and global security, and stability.
