Gaza City: At least 41 Palestinians were killed and dozens more injured in two Israeli airstrikes in central Gaza, according to Palestinian medical sources.

According to Anadolu Agency, the first strike targeted Palestinians waiting for humanitarian aid near Al-Shohada Junction in Nuseirat Refugee Camp, resulting in the deaths of 23 people and injuries to dozens more, as reported by the Al-Awda Hospital. Eyewitnesses stated that many of the victims remain on the ground, as rescue efforts are impeded by ongoing bombardment and unsafe conditions.

In a separate incident, 11 Palestinians lost their lives when an Israeli airstrike hit a residential building in Deir al-Balah, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society. Additionally, two Palestinians were killed and 10 others injured when an Israeli drone targeted a group of civilians near Al-Shifa Hospital in western Gaza City, as reported by medics to Anadolu.

Another drone strike in the Shejaiya neighborhood, east of the city, resulted in one fatality and multiple injuries, medics added. In southern Gaza, 13-year-old Rafif Alaa Khalil Al-Bureim was fatally shot by Israeli forces near the industrial zone north of Khan Younis, with several civilians also sustaining injuries. In a separate drone attack near Al-Sunniya Mosque in Khan Younis, three Palestinians were killed, according to medics.

The Israeli army has rejected international calls for a ceasefire and has continued its offensive against Gaza since October 2023, resulting in the deaths of more than 55,700 Palestinians, most of whom are women and children. Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, charging them with war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Additionally, Israel faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its actions in the enclave.
