Hasakah: Seven Syrian soldiers were killed and 20 others injured in a drone attack conducted by the YPG/SDF group on an ammunition site located in the northeastern Hasakah province, as reported by the Defense Ministry.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) stated that the incident occurred after army units discovered a workshop near the al-Yarubiyah border crossing, which was being used for manufacturing improvised explosive devices and drone munitions. The facility reportedly contained several Iranian-made drones that the SDF was preparing to arm.

As troops commenced securing and sweeping the site, the SDF targeted it with a suicide drone, resulting in the fatalities and injuries. In a separate statement, the army’s Operations Command labeled the incident as a ‘dangerous escalation’ and a ‘clear violation’ of the ceasefire. The statement also accused the SDF of continuing attacks on Syrians and their army, disregarding previous agreements.

The attack followed an announcement from the Syrian presidency indicating that a ‘mutual understanding’ had been reached with the SDF regarding the future of the Hasakah province. Additionally, the Defense Ministry announced a four-day ceasefire with the SDF, effective from 8 pm local time (1700GMT) on Tuesday.
