89 Women and 174 Children Killed in Israeli Airstrikes in Gaza, Authorities Report

Gaza: At least 89 women and 174 children were killed in Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip, local authorities said on Wednesday.

According to Anadolu Agency, Israeli warplanes targeted Gaza on Tuesday, resulting in the deaths of over 400 Palestinians. This assault shattered a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement that had been in place for nearly two months. Ismail Al-Thawabta, head of Gaza's government media office, stated in a press release that the victims comprised 89 women, 174 children, and 32 elderly individuals.

Al-Thawabta emphasized that women, children, and elderly people constituted the majority of those killed in the attacks on Tuesday. He accused the Israeli forces of having a premeditated intention to commit genocide against the people of Gaza.

Since October 2023, nearly 50,000 Palestinians, predominantly women and children, have been killed, and over 112,000 others have been injured in the ongoing Israeli military campaign in Gaza. This conflict has drawn international attention and condemnation.

Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, accusing them of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
