Ankara: Trkiye's unemployment rate was stable at 8.6% in September, the Turkish Statistical Institute said on Monday. The number of jobless rose 35,000 from August to 3.1 million as of September, TurkStat data showed. According to Anadolu Agency, while the unemployment rate for men decreased by 0.3 percentage points month-on-month to 6.7%, it rose 0.7 points to 12.3% for women. The labor force participation rate rose to 54.4% in September from 54.2% in August. The employment rate slightly rose by 0.1 percentage points to 49.7%, meaning 32.8 million people were employed. Youth unemployment, defined as those aged 15-24, edged up by 0.3 percentage points to 17.1%. The rate was 13.5% for males and 24% for females.
