Istanbul: Trkiye's benchmark stock index, the BIST 100, concluded Tuesday's trading session at 9,232.90 points, marking a decrease of 1.73% from the previous day's close. The index, which began the day at 9,430.99 points, experienced a decline of 162.49 points, with a daily transaction volume reaching 92.2 billion liras, equivalent to approximately $2.67 billion. According to Anadolu Agency, the financial markets also saw fluctuations in commodity prices and exchange rates. The price for an ounce of gold stood at $2,630.55, while Brent crude oil was priced at approximately $73.77 per barrel as of 6.23 p.m. local time (1523GMT). In the currency market, the exchange rate for the US dollar against the Turkish lira was 34.5610. The euro was exchanged at 36.5434 liras, and the British pound traded at 43.6838 liras.
