Pyongyang: North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has expressed a strong commitment to enhancing the cooperation between Pyongyang and Moscow, particularly in the areas of economy, inter-governmental trade, and science and technology. This announcement was made through state-run media on Tuesday. According to Anadolu Agency, Kim shared these sentiments during a meeting with the Russian Minister for Natural Resources and Ecology, Alexandr Kozlov, who was visiting Pyongyang for inter-governmental discussions. The North Korean leader appreciated the growing bilateral cooperation, noting that it has been deepening across various fields following the conclusion of a new treaty between the two nations. Kim emphasized the importance of advancing the mutual prosperity and development of both countries by promoting more extensive and diverse inter-governmental trade, economic, scientific, and technological exchanges. He highlighted that the DPRK-Russia relations have reached a new strategic level, necessitating further col laboration. A Russian delegation led by Alexandr Kozlov arrived in Pyongyang on Sunday to engage in inter-governmental talks focusing on trade, economy, science, and technology cooperation with North Korea. Additionally, on Monday, another Russian delegation from the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, led by President Vladimir Zarudnitski, arrived for discussions with North Korean officials. The recent developments follow the signing of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement in June between Pyongyang and Moscow. This agreement includes provisions for mutual military aid in the event of aggression from a third country and was finalized during Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to North Korea. Last year, Kim Jong Un visited Russia, with both countries reportedly offering support to each other as Moscow's conflict in Ukraine continues beyond 1,000 days.
