Turkish Stock Exchange Opens Week Lower.

Istanbul: Trkiye's benchmark stock index started the week on a downward trend, opening Monday at 9,602.31 points, marking a decrease of 0.51% or 49.69 points from the previous closing session. According to Anadolu Agency, the Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index had seen a slight rise of 0.12% on Friday, closing at 9,652 points. The session concluded with a daily transaction volume of 113 billion Turkish liras, equivalent to approximately $3.25 billion. In terms of currency, the USD/TRY exchange rate was recorded at 34.7267 at 09.51 am (0651GMT). Meanwhile, the EUR/TRY rate stood at 36.5626, and the GBP/TRY was trading at 44.1035. Commodities also saw fluctuations, with the price of one ounce of gold standing at $2,648.80. The price of Brent crude oil was approximately $72.49 per barrel, indicating ongoing volatility in global markets.
