Gaza: The ceasefire in Gaza will not commence until the list of hostages to be released is received, an Israeli army spokesman announced on Sunday.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Palestinian group Hamas has reiterated its commitment to the ceasefire agreement, noting that the delay is due to technical and logistical reasons. The ceasefire between Hamas and Israel was initially set to take effect in the Gaza Strip at 8:30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Sunday, according to a timeline established by mediators Qatar, Egypt, and the US.

The agreement involves a halt to hostilities and a prisoner exchange, following the timeline agreed upon by the mediators. The ceasefire aims to end the Israeli offensive on Gaza, which has been ongoing since October 7, 2023. This conflict has resulted in nearly 47,000 Palestinian casualties, predominantly women and children, and has injured over 110,700 others, as reported by local health authorities.
