Davos: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Wednesday engaged in discussions on bilateral cooperation with his Azerbaijani and Israeli counterparts on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. Zelenskyy aimed to strengthen ties and explore collaborative opportunities with both nations during these important meetings.

According to Anadolu Agency, Zelenskyy met with Israeli President Isaac Herzog to address key aspects of Ukrainian-Israeli cooperation. The discussions revolved around shared challenges and collaboration in the security domain, alongside efforts to achieve a fair peace for Ukraine. Zelenskyy noted the significance of people returning home from captivity, referencing the recent ceasefire and prisoner swap agreement between Israel and Hamas that took effect in Gaza on January 19. Both leaders agreed on potential areas for future cooperation, with Zelenskyy expressing optimism for sustained security and stability in the Middle East.

Zelenskyy also held talks with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, focusing on strengthening bilateral ties across political, economic, and humanitarian domains. The Azerbaijani presidency's statement highlighted discussions on energy sector cooperation and regional security matters. Zelenskyy extended his condolences to Aliyev over the recent Azerbaijan Airlines crash that resulted in significant casualties. He emphasized the need for transparency regarding the crash and urged pressure on Russia for accountability. The conversation also covered prospects for enhancing trade and collaboration in the energy sector.

Zelenskyy's visit to Davos included a special address and consultations with several international leaders, including those from Finland, Switzerland, Albania, Qatar, Vietnam, and Germany, underscoring Ukraine's commitment to fostering international partnerships.
