Gaza City: Palestinian medics and rescue teams have recovered eight additional bodies from the rubble in the Gaza Strip, raising the total death toll from Israel's war since October 2023 to 47,552, as reported by the Health Ministry on Wednesday. The ministry's statement further detailed that the toll includes four individuals who succumbed to their injuries in hospitals.

According to Anadolu Agency, the ministry reported that 11 injured individuals were admitted to hospitals in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of injured people to 111,629 due to the ongoing Israeli onslaught. The ministry highlighted that many victims remain trapped under the rubble and on the roads as rescuers face challenges in reaching them.

Figures provided by the ministry indicate that approximately 534 bodies have been recovered from the rubble since a ceasefire agreement took effect in Gaza on January 19. This agreement brought an end to the Israeli war that resulted in extensive destruction and left the Palestinian enclave devastated.

In November of the previous year, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, accusing them of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Additionally, Israel is facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice related to its actions in the enclave.
