Azerbaijani President Allocates $1 Million for Energy Equipment Aid to Ukraine

Baku: Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree to allocate $1 million for humanitarian aid to Ukraine, focusing on the purchase and delivery of energy equipment. The decree instructs the Energy Ministry to procure energy equipment manufactured in Azerbaijan and ensure their delivery to Ukraine.

According to Anadolu Agency, the funds will be sourced from the president's reserve fund under the 2025 state budget. Azerbaijan has a history of providing humanitarian assistance to Ukraine in response to the evolving situation in the country.

The statement shared by the Azerbaijani presidency highlights the diplomatic and economic relations between the two nations, which are based on agreements such as the 2000 Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation, and Partnership, and the 2022 Joint Declaration signed by the heads of state.

The Finance Ministry is responsible for ensuring the allocation of the funds, while the Cabinet of Ministers will oversee the implementation of the decree.
