Beijing: China's President Xi Jinping hosted the Sultan of Brunei and Thailand's Prime Minister for diplomatic discussions in Beijing on Thursday. This high-level meeting aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and addressing regional cooperation.

According to Anadolu Agency, during the meeting with Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah of Brunei, President Xi emphasized the importance of building a China-Brunei community with a shared future. He remarked that this collaboration opens a new chapter for their bilateral relations, highlighting the vision for the two nations to remain good neighbors, trusted friends, and partners in development.

The Sultan of Brunei is on a state visit to China, where he will also participate in the opening ceremony of the Asian Games scheduled for Friday.

In a separate meeting, President Xi also welcomed Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra. The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation in law enforcement and addressing cross-border crimes, such as online gambling and telecom fraud. Paetongtarn expressed Thailand's willingness to collaborate with China and other neighboring countries to implement effective measures against these issues, as reported by the Xinhua news agency.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry conveyed that both countries aim to build on their past achievements and further solidify the China-Thailand community with a shared future. This year marks the 50th anniversary of bilateral relations between China and Thailand.
