Washington: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Elon Musk on Thursday to discuss topics related to space, mobility, technology, and governance. 'Had a very good meeting with @elonmusk,' Modi shared on X, emphasizing India's reforms and commitment to 'Minimum Government, Maximum Governance.'

According to Anadolu Agency, the discussions included Musk's initiative on government efficiency, known as the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which critiques federal spending. The meeting underscored the potential for collaboration in improving government operations and technological advancements.

In addition to his meeting with Musk, Prime Minister Modi also held discussions with US National Security Advisor Mike Waltz. Modi's office reported that they explored ways to strengthen defense and security ties. Their conversation also covered increasing cooperation in fields such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and space, highlighting the robust potential for bilateral collaboration.

Modi described Waltz as a "great friend" and expressed optimism about the strong potential for cooperation in various areas. The discussions reflect the ongoing commitment to enhancing India-US relations through strategic and technological partnerships.

Additionally, Modi met with Tulsi Gabbard, the newly-confirmed Director of National Intelligence. He congratulated her on her recent confirmation and engaged in discussions focusing on the India-US friendship and its future trajectory.

Prime Minister Modi's visit to the US commenced on Wednesday, ahead of his scheduled meeting with President Donald Trump at the White House. This visit marks Modi as the fourth foreign leader to visit President Trump since his inauguration last month.
